Telehealth
Telehealth has revolutionized the way we look at medicine. According to WHO, ‘Telehealth’ is the delivery of health care services, where patients and providers are separated by distance1 Information and communication technology can address major challenges faced by developed and developing countries in providing accessible, cost effective, high-quality health care services1 This is especially helpful in rural and underserved population in developing countries- those who generally suffer from lack of access to health care.
My interest in telehealth has been since last 12 years since my training in England, where tele-consultations were part of the training in family medicine. It was impressive to see how many medical issues could be dealt with on the phone. This technology has improved in the last decade and is the future of medicine. I hope to be helpful to as many people as possible with this.
